THE BRITISH VALUES TRUST
Our Mission
The British Values Trust exists to celebrate, protect and preserve Britain's culture, traditions, heritage and freedoms for future generations. We believe that a nation's culture cannot survive on good intentions alone. The customs and institutions that have shaped British life for centuries must be actively supported, practised and passed on. From Christmas carols and village fêtes to our churches, high streets and community celebrations, these traditions connect us to our history and to one another. Our mission is to inspire people to take pride in their heritage and turn that pride into action. Through positive campaigns, education and community participation, we encourage everyone to play a part in keeping British culture alive.
Our Vision
We envision a Britain where our cultural heritage is not merely remembered, but lived, celebrated and confidently passed from one generation to the next.
A country where high streets thrive, local businesses are supported, churches and village halls remain at the heart of community life, and children grow up knowing the songs, stories, celebrations and traditions of their homeland.
We want to see communities coming together again: shopping locally, attending village fêtes, celebrating Christmas and Easter, supporting local events and taking part in the institutions that have served generations before us.
Above all, we believe preserving our heritage should be a shared, purposeful and joyful endeavour, open to everyone who values Britain's history and future.
We don't preserve a culture simply by loving it. We preserve it by living it.
Our work, your work
Our message is simple: Don't just value your culture. Take part in it, stand up for it and pass it on.

Protecting Our Culture & Traditions
Britain's heritage belongs to all of us, and preserving it requires action. We encourage people to support local businesses, attend community events, celebrate traditional festivals, visit historic churches and take an active interest in the customs that have shaped our country. Through practical campaigns and community initiatives, we aim to keep Britain's traditions alive for generations to come.

Standing Up for Our Rights
Everyone deserves to live free from harassment, intimidation and unlawful discrimination. We encourage people to speak up when they experience threatening behaviour, report genuine hate crimes and challenge unfair treatment through the appropriate channels. We also help people understand how to raise concerns about local disturbances, including excessive noise, and how to seek fair and lawful solutions. As free speech advocates we loathe "hate crimes" but whilst we have them, we might as well use them to our advantage.

Getting Involved in Your Community
Local decisions shape the places we call home. We encourage people to attend council meetings, follow planning applications, participate in public consultations and find out how public money is being spent. From protecting historic buildings to supporting local amenities and community traditions, we want more people to understand how local decisions are made and how they can have their say. You can make a difference.

Campaigns That Make a Difference
The British Values Trust will develop positive, practical campaigns to celebrate British heritage, protect longstanding traditions and encourage community participation. From bringing Christmas celebrations back into schools to supporting local festivals and preserving historic institutions, we aim to provide information, resources and simple actions that help people make a difference where they live.
Who are you?
Britain belongs to its communities, and we must remember that ours is a community with roots stretching back through centuries of history. Our grandparents, great-grandparents and generations before them built the towns, villages, institutions and traditions we inherit today. The wealthy financed great projects, architects and engineers designed them, and generations of working people built, maintained and sustained them. Their labour, ingenuity, sacrifice and determination helped shape the country we call home. That inheritance deserves recognition, respect and care. We are not simply spectators in the places our ancestors helped build. We have a stake in their future and a responsibility to the generations who will follow us. Don't assume somebody else will protect the things you value. Be the person who notices, the person who asks and the person who acts.
Don't Look Away
The erosion of a culture rarely happens overnight. It happens when people stop paying attention, stop asking questions and assume somebody else will speak up. If you see changes taking place in your town, your streets, your schools or your public spaces that concern you, don't simply shrug your shoulders and walk away. Take an interest. Ask questions. Start conversations. Find out who made the decision, why it was made and whether local people were consulted. Does your council proudly fly the Union flag? Are you aware of planning applications, proposed developments, changes of use or new houses in multiple occupation in your neighbourhood? Are public spaces being used considerately, with the same rules on noise, access and public gatherings applied to everyone? Attend council meetings, respond to consultations, write to your councillors and encourage your neighbours to get involved. You don't have to be confrontational to be effective, and you don't have to accept every change without question. Respect the freedoms and traditions of others while confidently standing up for your own. Britain belongs to its communities, and those communities have both a voice and a responsibility in shaping their future. Don't assume somebody else will protect the things you value. Be the person who notices, the person who asks and the person who acts.
